DCH, working with Parsons + Whittley has just handed over three properties to Hastoe Housing Association: two terraced houses constructed to Passivhaus standards and all properties meet level 4 for code for sustainable homes.

Rigorous airtight detailing - the Passivhaus hallmark - coupled with innovative Zehnder MVHR units, give these properties the edge in energy efficiency and help keep costs to a minimum.

Both terraced houses use Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) as their heating fuel and the bungalow employs an air source heat pump - all of which are kinder to the environment and more economical than traditional heating methods.

All three units are masonry blockwork construction but the two terraced houses benefit from enhanced external insulation, further increasing occupier comfort. The properties are fitted with high quality Internorm windows providing an additional boost to energy efficiency and further lowering running costs.
