DCH Construction Completes Landmark Affordable Housing Project in South Cambridgeshire
DCH Construction is proud to unveil nine new affordable homes in Eltisley, South Cambridgeshire – the village’s first such development in over 30 years. Completed in February 2025 and officially opened in June, the project was celebrated with representatives from government bodies, local councils, and development partners.
Experts have long highlighted a shortfall in affordable housing in rural areas. Before this project, Eltisley Parish offered just 27 affordable homes: 19 council-owned and eight provided through housing associations.
Affordable housing plays a vital role in strengthening communities – helping to reduce homelessness and retain young people and essential workers in the communities they grew up in. As the Government pushes forward with its goal to build 1.5 million new homes over the next four years, planning reform and strategic measures are essential to unlock potential in villages like Eltisley.
DCH Construction delivered the project in collaboration with architects The Design Partnership, on behalf of Hastoe Housing Association – a leading provider of sustainable rural housing. Hastoe partnered with Eltisley Parish Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council, and Homes England to bring this vital development to life.
