Introducing The White House in Cheshunt

At DCH Construction we are proud to share details of our latest project, The White House in Cheshunt. This development is an important addition to Cheshunt High Street and delivers high quality housing that meets the needs of the local communities.

Built in the 1970s, the original White House building was demolished two years ago leaving a noticeable gap in the High Street. Our new development will bring 36 homes to the area in partnership with B3Living and with support from Broxbourne Borough Council. The scheme includes 35 flats for affordable rent and one for social rent across two blocks. By bringing new residents into the High Street, the development will support local businesses and contribute to the wider regeneration of Cheshunt.

From the earliest stages, B3Living engaged with residents and stakeholders to ensure the design reflected local expectations. Feedback led to important changes, including creating open spaces and designing a frontage that adds character to the High Street. Listening to community input has resulted in a development that will be integrated with its surroundings and respectful of the people who live nearby.

The White House project has been designed with sustainability and durability in mind. Every detail, from the choice of materials to the layout of the homes, has been carefully considered to ensure long term usability. The homes are all carefully designed and constructed to achieve a coveted “B” energy rating, using enhanced fabric details, avoiding thermal bridging and utilising energy-efficient air source heat pumps and mechanical ventilation and heat recovery systems.  In this way, DCH, working closely with our client B3Living are helping to reduce fuel poverty for social housing residents in the area.

The project is scheduled for completion in Summer 2027, with phased handovers planned. The White House in Cheshunt is a project we are proud to deliver, and it reflects the values that guide our work: strengthening communities and creating opportunities for growth. These homes will serve families for decades, providing both immediate value and long-term resilience.
